CUSTOM MODIFIED 1958 REISSUE KORINA FLYING V

The '58 Korina V is the ultimate guitar! Hailed by many as the ultimate guitar tonewood, Korina (or African Limba) has a tone similar to Mahogany. The limited availability of this African wood makes it difficult for many guitar manufacturers to acquire the necessary planks to make Korina guitars. Korina wood remains one of the most exotic, if not the most exotic, guitar-making wood in the world. The mere mention of Korina wood in the same breath with a guitar makes many guitarists and collectors drool. It is, after all, the wood used to build some of the most legendary guitars of all time. Korina is also lighter than Mahogany so it has a sweeter midrange, with enhanced responsiveness. The Korina puts out a warm buzz which makes it smoke during speed riffs and solos. This wood makes the guitar light and flexible while playing and promotes sustain. As the great Nigel Tufnel once said . .."you can go grab a bite to eat and come back....it's still wailing." Designed for power chords and hard riffs, this guitar doesn't let up. It can do anything. Van Halen's "You Really Got Me" was recorded with a Korina wood guitar. Albert King, of course is well know for his use of the Korina V. He was absolutely one of the most powerful, articulate, and soulful string benders ever. The guitar work of Albert King lives on in the playing of literally thousands of blues, rock, and jazz guitarists. Picking with his bare fingers and the volume turned WAY up, Albert created perhaps the most cutting and immediately identifiable electric blues guitar style ever.

This CUSTOM MODIFIED 1958 REISSUE KORINA FLYING V is as closed as it gets to owning an original 1958 Korina Flying V. This guitar was custom modified to the exact specs of Albert Kings original '58 Korina Flying V. We started with an Epiphone '58 Reissue Korina Flying V. We installed two Double Cream PAF Humbuckers that were custom built by a Masterbuilder and restorer of PAF pickups. In fact, the pups even have an authentic Patent Applied For sticker on the back of the base. The cool part about that is that Gibson used the double creams in the late 50's but because DiMarzio received a patent on double cream bobbins no one is allowed to manufacture them today. However, since these were custom built pickups, we had them built to the exact specs of the original '58 pups, including butyrate bobbins and original spec wire. We also changed the Epi capacitor to a period correct Bumblebee cap. We changed out the pots to CTS just like the original '58 Flying V had and we changed the bridge to a Gibson bridge. This guitar is now a closer replica to Alberts original '58 Korina than Gibsons $12,000. reissue! And! Most importantly this guitar sounds like Albert Kings original '58 Flying V!

The lightweight Korina wood, with it's beautiful, tight grain pattern combined with these custom built, handwound pickups create the ultimate tone ( bright, clear tone with a brilliant cutting edge to it) resonance and sustain. This guitar weighs 6 lbs 13.5 oz. Why do you think they called it the Flying V? This guitar is so light and resonate, it can just about fly! This guitar is beautiful, comfortable to play and built from the finest tonewood. The classic "pointy" headstock was the original design for a V body and it is the only design that will ever look truly at home on a V. The profile of the neck is chunky, just like it ought to be with medium frets, fast action and a great feel. The V shaped tailpiece really adds to the whole vintage vibe of the guitar. The strings dive down from the bridge through a V shaped gold plate to end in the ferrules at the back of the body. The V is a very comfortable shape to wear and play. It even has a serrated rubber strip added to the lower edge, to make the V playable in a seated position. This is the ultimate guitar! 100% MINT CONDITION COMPLETE WITH THE BROWN TOLEX FLYING V HARDSHELL CASE (PINK LINING) AND MOJO! It just doesn't get any better especially at this price!
It's the MOJO of the MASTERS!
