1999 PRS McCarty Moons

The Paul Reed Smith McCarty solid-body electric guitar is named after ex-Gibson president Ted McCarty, one of the most important designers in electric guitar history. The McCarty was introduced in 1994 and was based on ideas from McCarty as well as Austin session guitarist David Grissom, who was looking for an axe that could deliver a massive "Duane Allman live at the Fillmore" sound.

This guitar has a carved mahogany body with a maple top and extra thickness for superior tone and sustain. Equipped with two PRS humbuckers (neck and bridge) with alnico magnets and nickel-silver covers. The neck is mahogany with a 10" radius, and has a rosewood fretboard with abalone moon inlays, and 22 frets. The strings have a straight pull over the nut for extremely stable tuning. This guitar has a three-way pick-up selector, a volume knob and a tone knob to control both pick-ups and a super cool added feature in that the tone pot is a push-pull coil-tap control that will cut the inside coils of the pickups to deliver a single-coil sound. It has a PRS stop bridge, and its McCarty-design pickups give it a more vintage tone. With the volume controls dialed down you get silky smooth, clean jazz tones. The neck pick-up is ideal for country and rock rhythm. Pushed, the bridge pick up gives a nice growl and stinging leads. This guitar has the body hugging comfort of a Strat with the tone zone of a Les Paul and more! It plays like a dream with it's wide fat neck and 25 inch scale. This is a premium instrument of the highest quality that can play a wide range of music ranging from jazz to hard rock. Superb construction, great tones, fabulous looks... what more do you want?

This guitar is a players dream and a collectors prize. Built in 1999 when the wood was good! The McCarty Sunburst finish is a classic and with the beautiful flame Maple top, it just doesn't get any better! Near mint condition, showing only a couple of dings and very little fret wear.
