Fender Custom Shop 1964 Jazz Bass Relic

Bright, articulate, defined, rockin' and cool! The Jazz Bass is distinct from the Precision Bass in that its tone is brighter and richer in the midrange with less emphasis on the fundamental harmonic. With a bright funky sound and more high end than the Precision Bass, the Jazz Bass is ideal for slap playing as well as finger-style playing. Because of this, many bass players who want to be more "forward" in the mix, like Noel Redding, John Paul Jones, Verdine White, Larry Graham and John Entwistle, (to name a few) prefer the Jazz Bass.

Some instruments are sought after because a famous musician played them. Others achieve notoriety based on their own inimitable qualities - the subtle combination of tone, feel, and looks that grabs hold of a player and won't let go. The Fender Custom Shop 1964 Jazz Bass Relic is famous for both reasons. These collectibles are built to the exact specs of their respective vintages, including body contours, neck shape, fingerboard radius, pickups and electronics. Original materials, tooling and production techniques are employed whenever possible to maintain the integrity of these instruments.
