2004Gibson Custom, Art & Historic 1956 Les Paul Chambered Reissue
Stanley Burst

You don't have to be a southern legend to appreciate the sound and soul of the '56 Les Paul. This guitar has all that FAT P-90 BITE BUT WITHOUT THE HUM! For blues and early rock you just can't beat this guitar. Dickey Betts, Duane Alman, Freddie King, David Gilmour, Muddy Waters, Mike Bloomfield, Steve Miller, Jimmy Page, Neil Young, Joe Walsh, Jeff Beck, Carl Perkins, Rick Derringer, Frank Zappa, Eric Clapton, Keith Urban, Keith Richards and Blind Owl Wilson have all had the fever for that P-90 sound. Mix that P-90 crunch with a chunky mahogany neck and you've really got a guitar that GROWLS!

Fit, finish and feel, join together with just the right elements to make the perfect Les Paul for dirty Blues and Rock'n Roll! This 1956 Les Paul Chambered Reissue is probably a one of a kind instrument loaded with 2 HONKIN' P-90 pickups and finished in Stanley Burst. This guitar has all the historically accurate appointments and legendary tone of the original 1956 Les Paul with the exception of a comfortable weight-relieved mahogany body and a BIRDSEYE MAPLE TOP! No detail has been overlooked, starting with the Les Paul's traditional hand-carved maple top and a 24 3/4-inch scale length neck is made from one solid piece of mahogany, and attached to the body using a long neck tenon - one of the Les Paul's more distinguishing characteristics of the 1950s. The neck is topped by a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard outfitted with trapezoid inlays matching the size of color of the originals. The headstock is made with a holly head veneer, just like it was in 1956, and the vintage-style tulip tuners are mounted in a straight line, also as they were on the original.

Gibson's legendary P-90 single-coil pickups provide all the punch and raw power that made the 1956 Les Paul the guitar of choice for many early electric blues players. Other historical appointments include CTS potentiometers, bumble bee capacitors, rolled cream colored fingerboard binding, single-ply thin binding around the body, and period-correct switchwasher and jackplate. The ABR-1 was added to the Les Paul Model in 1956 with individual saddles to adjust each string's length as well as thumbwheels to adjust the overall height of the bridge. This represented a quantum leap forward in intonation and a marked improvement in tone and sustain.

The guitar rings out natural harmonics and sounds incredible distorted. It also has a beautiful clean tone. There's a bit of extra bite to the sound, a far less muddy tone and the sustain is awesome! And, with the long neck tenon and the original chunky '50s rounded neck profile, which is historically accurate, it lets you really lean into the neck and dig in for the best tone.

This guitar is a collectors prize, near mint and all original, one owner, under the bed beauty! She weighs 7 lbs. 8.5 ozs! She light on your back and resonant! The thickness of the neck measures .907 at the first fret and .927 at the 12th. This guitar comes complete with the LIMITED EDITION Gibson Custom Art & Historic TWEED hardshell case, goodie bag, vintage reissue cord, COA and PURE MOJO MAGIC! This guitar demands to be played!
